Design and Ergonomics

This camera is 31.2 mm thick, and with dimensions of 94.3 x 61.6 x 31.2mm and a weight of 186g.  A 2.5 " LCD screen allows for framing, reviewing and sharing images.

Picture Quality and Lens

With 10 megapixels you can get a 8x12 with room for cropping  print at full resolution with greater enlargement possible to achieve high quality Poster size prints. The 3.3 times lens has a 35mm film equivalent focal length range of 37-122mm, which will give you a perspective from standard wide angle to mid-telephoto for Small groups and Creative portraits. It also has a 4 times digital zoom and is also capable of a high 1600 ISO for better lowlight photography.

Smart AUTO uses Advanced Canon technology to intelligently analyze your situation and shooting conditions. Then it automatically selects an appropriate setting from 18 specially defined settings.

Face Detection detects up to 35 faces in a shot and adjusts focus, exposure, flash settings and white balance – for optimal results with natural-looking skin tones. FaceSelf-Timer allows you to take group photos, with you in it, easily by taking the shot when your  face enters the frame.

Motion Detection Technology works in the background to instantly evaluate how fast your subject is moving. Then it automatically selects and sets the optimal exposure and ISO settings to keep everything looking sharp and clear. When you need higher ISOs for action-stopping shutter speeds, Motion Detection Technology provides it. But when no movement is detected, it allows lower ISOs for excellent colour and detail.

With Smart Auto, you can take great photos with just the press of a button. The camera automatically selects the most appropriate scene from a possible 19 and applies the best settings for a perfect picture.

When shooting subjects in motion or in low light where blur could easily occur, Blur Reduction mode works to ensure clear results free from blur

As well as powering intelligent camera technologies such as Smart Auto and Face Detection, The DIGIC III processor ensures quick response, high image quality, and accurate colour reproduction.
