Features
Design and ergonomics
Weighing 385g without the battery and with dimensions 62 x 67 x 126mm, the Sony HDR-CX560 features a 3.0" Xtra Fine LCD display, providing 921K pixels resolution viewing clarity. With an incredible 921K-dot resolution, 16.77 million colours reproduction and high contrast level, every photo comes to life on this magnificent screen.
With an extremely high resolution of 921k dots, which is 3x the resolution of regular camcorder LCDs, the Xtra Fine LCD touchscreen displays your shots with incredible levels of photo-realistic detail and rich, vivid colours. The screen’s high contrast and wide viewing angle ensures you can see things clearly, even outdoors in bright daylight.
Activate camera features such as video playback controls, Program AE, effects mode, search and title entry by a simple touch on the generously sized LCD screen. For added protection, the touch panel is specially treated against dirt and unwanted fingerprints.
Lens and Audio-Visual Quality
The Sony G lens features a 10X optical zoom as well as a Digital Zoom of 120X.
Capturing High definition footage of 1920 x 1080 resolution and photos of 12.3 megapixel resolution, the HDR-CX560 features a Dolby Digital 5.1ch audio format.
The Sony G Lens features premium optical construction plus technologies like Extra Low Dispersion (ED) glass to assure brilliantly clear images with good detail, colour and contrast at all focal lengths.
The camcorder’s microphone captures 5.1 channel surround sound that can be enjoyed through your home theatre system’s speakers. It’s a great way of adding an extra dimension of realism to your footage, immersing you in the middle of what’s happening on screen.
The Zoom Microphone increases foreground microphone sensitivity, ensuring that dialogue and other sounds you zoom into are picked up clearly. It’s completely automatic: Just zoom in while you’re shooting and enjoy clear, crisp audio in close-up.
Recording System Features
This camera records in high definition to Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick Duo HG cards (the same cards used widely in digital stills cameras) which means users store their video footage onto small, interchangeable and reusable media. Recording direct to memory cards means there are no moving parts in the recording section, which means that the video camera is exceptionally resistant to impact and tough conditions and the use of memory card recording media is in part responsible for the ultra compact build achievable with flash memory video cameras. Memory cards are also easy to store and to use as archive material.
This camera has a built-in internal memory of 64GB, which will store 5 Hours 10minutes of High Defintiion footage shot at the highest quality setting.
Technology Features
The “Exmor R” CMOS sensor uses a back-illuminated design that allows more light to reach the receptors than conventional sensors resulting in less grainy, noisy looking pictures and higher image quality in low light situations. It is also a full HD sensor.
The ClearVid CMOS sensor ensures clearer, detail-packed images, whether you’re shooting video or stills. The sensor’s high resolution and excellent sensitivity, achieved with Sony’s unique pixel layout technology, delivers beautiful images with vivid colour, excellent contrast and low picture noise.
Sony Picture Motion Browser software offers a simple, intuitive way to transfer, sort, and view your video and still images on your compatible PC. In addition, multiple output options let you connect to a DVD burner (sold separately), as well as take advantage of one click upload to a number of popular video and photo sharing sites.
Optical SteadyShot (Active) mode uses a camera shake correction angle 10 x wider than conventional image stabilisers to reduce camera shake. Now you can shoot smoother movie footage while chasing children or strolling around sightseeing.
This video camera supports x.v colour which is a colour standard that is able to capture the wider colour range supported by current full high definition displays, providing more accurate shades of colour and nuance.
Face Detection automatically detects faces and adjusts focus, exposure and colour balance to produce well exposed, sharp and natural looking skin tone.
While shooting your original movie footage, Smile Shutter automatically detects and takes a photograph of your subject if he or she smiles. It’s a great way to record snapshots of smiling friends and family members!
The Highlight Playback feature of your Handycam automatically creates an edited highlights video based on footage you have captured. The system uses Face Index, Smile Shutter, and other criteria to sort through your footage and it is also possible to add music tracks to the video.
A sensitive GPS receiver inside the Handycam tracks your position as you travel, automatically ‘geotagging’ the location of your video clips and photos. After shooting, Map Index shows where each clip was shot as ‘map pins’ on the camcorder’s LCD screen (NB: map coverage may not cover all world regions). Online map views can also be enjoyed on your PC using supplied Picture Motion Browser software.
This Handycam model has a Quick Start-up feature, which allows you to just flip open the LCD and you’re ready to shoot in less than a second.
Dual REC even lets you grab stills without interrupting video recording: just press the shutter button while shooting continues. High-resolution still photos are stored on removable Memory Stick DUO.
Strong backlighting – like sunlight on a beach or snow glare – can produce disappointing results. Background highlights can look bleached out and over-exposed, while your subject in the foreground appears dark and underexposed. D-Range Optimiser intelligently adjusts exposure values for more satisfying, natural results with brightly backlit scenes.
