Picture Quality and Lens

With 10.0 megapixels you can get a 10x13 inch print at full resolution with greater enlargement possible to achieve high quality banner size prints. The 3.3 times lens has a 35mm film equivalent focal length range of  37-122mm, which will give you a perspective from standard wide angle to mid-telephoto for small groups to creative portraits. It also has a 4 times digital zoom and is also capable of a high 1600 ISO for better lowlight photography.

Smart AUTO uses Advanced Canon technology to intelligently analyze your situation and shooting conditions. Then it automatically selects an appropriate setting from 18 specially defined settings.

Face Detection detects up to 35 faces in a shot and adjusts focus, exposure, flash settings and white balance – for optimal results with natural-looking skin tones. FaceSelf-Timer allows you to take group photos, with you in it, easily by taking the shot when your  face enters the frame.

Motion Detection Technology works in the background to instantly evaluate how fast your subject is moving. Then it automatically selects and sets the optimal exposure and ISO settings to keep everything looking sharp and clear. When you need higher ISOs for action-stopping shutter speeds, Motion Detection Technology provides it. But when no movement is detected, it allows lower ISOs for excellent colour and detail.

The MPEG movie mode allows you to capture movies with sound at a good quality 30 frames per second at HD-ready quality (720p) resolution. The zoom can also be used while capturing video.
