This camera is 107.7 mm thick, and with dimensions of 122.9 x 92.4 x 107.7 mm and a weight of 601g.  A 2.7 “inch Pure Colour II VA (TFT) screen allows for framing, reviewing and sharing images.

PureColour LCD II

Canon's PureColour LCD II offers spectacular colour, resolution and contrast even when viewed at an angle. The screen is highly durable and easy to see in any light with a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective coating. It also features Night Display for easy viewing in low light - a perfect feature for gathering friends and family around to see your images.

Picture Quality and Lens

With 14.1 megapixels you can get a 11x14 with room for cropping to Banner size prints. The 35 times lens has a 35mm film equivalent focal length range of  24-840mm, which will give you a perspective from Extra wide angle to Full telephoto for Large groups and landscapes to Very Creative portraits and distant landmarks of interest. It also has a 4 times digital zoom and is also capable of a high 1600 ISO for better lowlight photography.

DIGIC 4 processor

Canon’s DIGIC 4 processor drives fast processing speeds, responsive operation, superb image quality and colour reproduction. Richly detailed, cleaner images, even at high ISO speeds, are the result of advanced Noise Reduction.

Key Features

Optical Image Stabilisation helps to reduce camera shake blur. The built-in gyro sensors detect camera shake and automatically activates a shift lens unit to compensate for it.

Smart AUTO uses Advanced Canon technology to intelligently analyze your situation and shooting conditions. Then it automatically selects an appropriate setting from 18 specially defined settings.

Face Detection detects up to 35 faces in a shot and adjusts focus, exposure, flash settings and white balance – for optimal results with natural-looking skin tones. FaceSelf-Timer allows you to take group photos, with you in it, easily by taking the shot when your  face enters the frame.

Motion Detection Technology works in the background to instantly evaluate how fast your subject is moving. Then it automatically selects and sets the optimal exposure and ISO settings to keep everything looking sharp and clear. When you need higher ISOs for action-stopping shutter speeds, Motion Detection Technology provides it. But when no movement is detected, it allows lower ISOs for excellent colour and detail.

i-Contrast solves difficult lighting situations where you have extremely bright and dark areas appearing in the same image by brightening up dark areas while keeping the bright parts as they are.

A special red eye fix algorithm on the camera automatically eliminates red eye from occurring in your pictures. You can remove red eye during image reviewing, or for more convenience, set the camera to automatically detect and eliminate red eye from your shots as they are taken.

The MPEG movie mode allows you to capture movies with sound at a good quality 30 frames per second at HD-ready quality (720p) resolution. The zoom can also be used while capturing video.

This port lets you connect to HDMI compatible HD TVs to view images in high definition quality.
