Picture Quality and Lens

With 8.0 megapixels you can get a 6x9 print at full resolution with plenty of room for cropping and with greater enlargement possible to achieve high quality A4 prints. The 3.6 times NIKKOR Glass Lens has a 35mm film equivalent focal length range of  41-145mm, which will give you a Slightly over wide angle to mid-telephoto for Small groups to Creative portraits. This feature has extended zoom. It also has a 4 times digital zoom. This camera is also capable of a highest 1600 ISO for better lowlight photography.

Scene Auto Selector

Scene Auto Selector judges the kind of scene you are trying to capture and selects the optimum Scene mode to ensure the best settings are used for popular photographic situations, sparing you the bother of selecting the scene mode by hand.

Face-priority AF

Whether photographing an individual portrait or a group of friends, Face-priority AF helps ensure satisfying results. It automatically detects as many as 12 faces in the shot, automatically setting focus and adjusting exposure to achieve sharp pictures and the right balance of brightness on your subject’s face and across the whole picture.

Smile Mode

Smile Mode uses face recognition technology to automatically take the picture when your subject smiles to help you catch precious moments.

Blink Proof

Blink Proof shoots two pictures in quick succession and automatically saves the one in which the subject’s eyes are wide open.

Motion Detect

Motion Detect helps you to take sharper pictures by automatically selecting a faster shutter speed and higher ISO (light sensitivity) setting to compensate for subject movement or camera shake.  Motion detection frees you to enjoy taking great pictures instead of worrying about camera settings.

Optical Image Stabilisation

Taking data from a built-in angular velocity sensor, the system applies in-camera image processing to turn blurred images into beautifully sharp results. This system is less effective than optical lens or sensor shift VR.

Red-eye reduction

All COOLPIX cameras offer advanced red-eye reduction capability that automatically analyses the captured image and corrects any perceived red-eye effect before saving the image to memory.
