Weighing 470g with the battery and with dimensions of 75 x 74 x 140mm, this video camera features a 3.5" touch-screen LCD, providing 123K pixels resolution viewing clarity.

3.5” touch-screen LCD

A high-resolution 3.5” touch-screen LCD offers a highly detailed, 100% view for shooting HD movies. A unique, gesture-based LCD interface gives you fingertip access to shooting and playback functions, including Touch Tracking, Touch Focus and Touch Exposure modes.

Lens and Audio-Visual Quality

The lens features a 10X optical zoom as well as a Digital Zoom of 200X.

Capturing high definition footage of  6 megapixel resolution video, and captures photos at 8 megapixel resolution, this video camera features a 2 channel audio format and features manual focus.

Recording System Features

This camera records in standard definition to SD cards which means users store their video footage onto small, interchangeable and reusable media. Recording direct to SD cards means there are no moving parts in the recording section, which means that the video camera is exceptionally resistant to impact and tough conditions and the use of memory card recording media is in part responsible for the ultra compact build achievable with flash memory video cameras. SD cards are also easy to store and to use as archive material.

This camera has a built-in internal memory of 32GB, which will store 3 hours and 40 minutes of High Definition footage shot at the highest quality setting.

Easy movie sharing

For easier sharing of your movies, the LEGRIA HF S20 lets you convert AVCHD (MPEG4) files to smaller, standard definition MPEG2 files, ready for burning to DVD or uploading to the web.

Professional control

A Custom Key lets you activate one of five variables that can be assigned to the manual Control Dial, including focus, exposure, and audio level. A remote control jack input enables the use of optional external remote controls.

Audio excellence

Capture and monitor superior audio with a microphone input connection and headphone jack. An configurable Mic Attenuator compensates for sudden volume changes, ensuring that audio is always recorded at the optimum level.

Steadier shots

An Optical Image Stabilizer with a new Dynamic mode lets you record steadier footage, even when you’re moving. Powered IS keeps footage super-steady when shooting at the telephoto end of the zoom range.

Pre Rec

In Pre REC mode, the camcorder starts recording three seconds before the Record button is pressed. These seconds are added to the beginning of each clip, so you can still capture that crucial moment even if you pressed the Record button too late. Instant AF achieves highly accurate focus at speed.

Extended colour

DIGIC DV III supports x.v.Color – for deeper, richer hues during playback on compatible HDTVs. 25p Cinema Mode matches the look of traditional film, and provides enhanced low-light shooting performance.

Creative extras

With a mini Advanced Accessory Shoe, optional accessories – such as a video light – can be used. The 58mm lens thread is compatible with professional filters.
