Design and Ergonomics

This super-slim camera has dimensions of 92.2 x 56.1 x 17.8mm and a thickness of 17.8mm. It has a 2.7" PureColour II G LCD.

PureColor II G LCD

PureColor II G LCD features a tempered glass layer, which strengthens the surface and improves visibility. Optional on-screen Hints & Tips guide you through the camera’s features.

Picture Quality and Lens

With 14.1 megapixels you can get 11x14 print at full resolution with room for cropping and with greater enlargement possible to achieve high quality banner size prints. The 4 times optical zoom lens has a 35mm film equivalent focal length range of 28 – 112mm, which will give you a perspective from extra wide angle to short telephoto for large groups and landscapes to good portraits. It also has a 4 times digital zoom and up to 16 times combined zoom. This camera is also capable of a high 1600 ISO for better lowlight photography.

Key Technologies

Smart Auto mode

Smart Auto mode uses intelligent Scene Detection Technology to evaluate the brightness, contrast, distance, required flash exposure and overall hue of a subject – then selects optimum settings. Easy mode disables all but the essential controls, and reduces on-screen icons for total ease-of-use.

Easier operation

A Hints & Tips mode offers on-screen explanations of key features during shooting, playback and menu navigation.

Motion Detection Technology

Canon’s blur-beating Motion Detection Technology ascertains movement of both camera and subject. The optimal ISO level is then automatically set, to minimise blur and maximise image quality.

Face Detection Technology

A suite of Face Detection technologies detects multiple faces in a scene and adjusts focus, exposure, flash settings & white balance – for optimal results with natural-looking skin tones. FaceSelf-Timer makes group photos easy, taking a shot after an extra face enters the frame. Auto Red-Eye Correction identifies and removes the red-eye effect caused by flash.

DIGIC III
