The 2.7” Clear Photo™ LCD3 (230 K) display provides exceptional viewing clarity with 123K pixels resolution. The display rotates up to 270 degrees for multiple viewing angles, as well as provides sharp, detailed images for monitoring or playback. The convenient touch panel allows easy access to menus and additional functionality such as spot focus and spot metering.

Record and zoom controls on LCD

The DCR-SR88 features an additional set of record and zoom buttons on the LCD screen, giving you more control and flexibility when holding the camcorder, especially in overhead or low angle shots.

Lens and Audio-Visual Quality

The lens features a 60X optical zoom as well as a Digital Zoom of 2000X.

Capturing standard definition footage of 0.4 megapixel resolution video, and photos of 0.6 megapixel resolution, this video camera features a Dolby® Digital 2ch stereo format and manual focus.

The built-in zoom microphone focuses audio recording on your subjects with the camera's zoom lens, helping memories ring true with clear dialogue and crisp, discrete sounds.

Recording System Features

The 80GB Gig hard drive can store 9 hours and 20 minutes of high definition footage shot at the highest quality setting. A shock absorber protects the Hard Disk Drive from physical damage if the unit is dropped. When the sensor detects a drop (loss of gravity), the power to the hard disk drive is turned off in order to prevent damage. During this time the camera remains powered on and recording video to the built-in buffer. Once the unit has recovered from the drop the buffer is then recorded to the hard disk drive.

Film Roll / Face Index

With Film Roll Index, the camcorder previews the beginning of scenes and creates scene indexes set at specified display intervals (3, 6, or 12 seconds and 1 or 5 minutes). Face Index indexes your video footage according to the faces detected in each scene. When it’s time to play back video, simply search for what you want by selecting from among the detected faces displayed in the index.

The DCR-SR68 features a professional-quality Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® lens designed specifically for compact camcorders. Precision ground optics help maintain the sharpness and contrast of larger lenses, and SteadyShot® image stabilization helps reduce blur caused by camera shake.

Face Detection

Face Detection technology recognizes up to 8 faces anywhere in the frame and automatically adjusts exposure to help capture faces brightly and clearly.

Power On by opening LCD display

Power on your camcorder by simply opening the LCD display.

Direct connection with DVD burner (sold separately):

The DCR-SR68 supports a direct connection with the VRD-P1 DVD burner (sold separately), which allows you to burn DVDs directly from your camcorder without the need for a PC. And because the VRD-P1 is powered by your camcorder, you don't need an additional AC power cable.
