Weighing 855g, the 8x40 Binocular is not light, although its rugged build and rubber, shock absorbing armouring offer protection for its inner mechanism, making it ideal for high action viewing.

Nikon has incorporated eco-friendly glass elements in its binoculars, removing lead and glass, and has multi-layer coated lenses in the 8x40 to ensure brighter images by minimising flare and ghosting.
