Design and ergonomics

The HVR-HD1000E is lightweight and easy to use, thanks to its shoulder-mount design which allows stability and balance, and reduces operator fatigue during long shoots. The record button and zoom controls are placed on the handle for quick and efficient access to these functions, and a special camera control ring is located on the lens unit which allows users to adjust settings like focus, brightness and shutter.

A large, freely rotating 2.7 inch LCD screen is located on the top of the viewfinder unit to provide easy viewing. The LCD displays a resolution of 0.2 mega pixels and uses Clear Photo LCD plus technology to provide proper brightness and a high level of colour reproduction.

Lens and Audio Quality

The ClearVid CMOS Sensor uses a unique pixel layout rotated 45 degrees to provide high resolution and high sensitivity and works in conjunction with the Enhanced Imaging Processor to generates stunning images.

The Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonner T* lens with 10x optical zoom allows the HVR-HD1000E to adapt to a wide range of shooting situations.
The Carl Zeiss T* coating suppresses unwanted reflections and the 1/2.9-inch ClearVid CMOS processor offers wide dynamic range and excellent colour reproduction.

An ECM-PS1 external shot-gun stereo microphone is supplied.

Key Features

With Sony’s Super SteadyShotTM  Optical Image Stabilizer in the HVR-HD1000E, the lens itself shifts vertically and horizontally to avoids any deterioration in image quality, particularly caused by camera shake, and its ClearVid CMOS processor eradicates picture smear and is less demanding on power consumption, thus delivering longer battery life.

The Smooth Slow Record function enables slow-motion playback by capturing images at four times faster than the normal field rate and The Super NightShot function allows users to shoot in incredibly low light conditions by using a built-in infrared light emitter.

The HVR-HD1000E camcorder uses standard infoLITHIUM L series batteries and when using the NP-F970, a maximum operating time of approximately 10 hours can be achieved thanks to the power management system and low power consumption of the ClearVid CMOS Sensor.
