Design And Ergonomics

The E-P1 body features dimensions of 120.5 x 70 x 35 mm, a weight of 335g and a high resolution 3-inch HyperCrystal LCD for framing, reviewing and sharing images. The LCD features a wide viewing angle of 176 degrees in all directions, even in bright sunlight. Using the main and subdials, you can select and operate the icon controls
without taking your eyes off the screen view,checking the settings in real time on the Live View monitor.

Picture Quality

With 12.3 megapixels you can get an 10x12 inch print at full resolution with greater enlargement possible to achieve high quality poster size prints. In combination with the high optical performance provided by Micro Four Thirds lenses, this sensor captures high-resolution images that accurately reproduce your composition with exquisite detail, rich gradations and natural colours.

The TruePic V image-processing engine is a refined version of the high performance TruePic III+ engine, delivering clearer, higher-resolution images by exploiting the full performance of the lens. Sophisticated noise reduction that removes noise without obliterating details allows high-sensitivity shooting at ISO 6400 and beautifully reproduces delicate colour changes.

Performance features

The E-P1 captures up to 3 frames per second for a continuous burst of up to 10 in RAW. Autofocus uses 11 points with automatic and manual selection, 25 points with auto selection and face detection on and 225 points with manual selection in Magnified View Mode.
ISO setting are adjusted in 1-stops (100-6400) and Shutter speeds at 1/2 or 1/3 stops (from 60sec- 1/4000th sec).

Technology features

A new Supersonic Wave Filter (SSWF) redesigned to fi t in a smaller unit is installed in front of the image sensor, where it vibrates at an ultra-high speed of more than 30,000 times a second, blasting dust away from the sensor. The tremendous power of the supersonic waves can even remove dust that cannot be removed merely by shaking the image sensor or dust that is attached by intermolecular force and cannot be removed by discharging static electricity.

Optical Image Stabilisation helps to reduce camera shake blur. The built-in gyro sensors detect camera shake and automatically activates a shift lens unit to compensate for it

Shadow adjustment technology solves difficult lighting situations where you have extremely bright and dark areas appearing in the same image by brightening up dark areas while keeps the bright parts as they are.

The Face detection technology automatically focuses and optimises exposure on faces for sharp, brilliant portrait pictures

The MPEG movie mode allows you to capture movies with sound at a good quality 30 frames per second at HD quality (1280x720) resolution. The zoom can also be used while capturing video.

The Magic filter feature offers great re-worked images without image editing knowledge or computer software, like pop art, pin hole, sketch, wedding and fisheye.
