Design and Ergonomics

This DSLR features a sturdy bulge on the shutter button side for better handling and a 2.7 inch Hypercrystal II LCD, making viewing and reviewing your pictures possible even in bright sunlight. The LCD has a viewing angle of 176 degrees.

Picture Quality

With 10 megapixels you can get an 8x12 inch print at full resolution with greater enlargement possible to achieve high quality poster size prints. The TruePic III processor has been used to improve image processing time and offer enhanced camera operation, including better noise reduction at higher ISOs.

Performance Features

Image stabilisation is achieved by moving the image sensor in response to movements in orientation caused by camera shake, allowing the user to use slower shutter speeds than normally possible and still achieve sharp pictures – a very useful feature in lowlight photography. An additional benefit of including image stabilisation in the body of the camera is that all attached to it benefit from this ability.
This camera is a capable of 3.5 frames per second continuous shooting with unlimited capture of JPEGs at High Quality resolution and up to 8 RAW images in a burst.

Technology Features

LiveView displays what the camera is seeing on the LCD, which makes composing for awkward shots like shooting over crowds easier. Olympus have also made autofocus in this mode possible, although it does so at the expense of a short shutter lag. Olympus also have an advanced sensor cleaning system that uses supersonic waves that physically shake dust off the sensor for cleaner, clearer pictures. There is also a dual-slot memory compartment for xd-Picture Card and CompactFlash and a range of 32 shooting modes for ease of use.
