Design and Ergonomics
The Leica C3 is slim and stylish with just a 22mm thick metal body and fully retractable lens that is unmistakeably Leica in design, but for the first time truly jeans pocket fitting. Round the back you’ll find a 2.5 inch LCD with a resolution of 230,000 pixels.
In wide-angle mode, the display can still be optimally seen even at a difficult viewing angle such as over a crowd of people, and can be switched to extra bright Power LCD mode for visibility in extremely bright ambient light.
Controls and functions have been designed to be easy to use by anyone : To change between capture and viewing mode, you just flick a switch. An extra knob lets you choose between photo and film mode, while the large, readable lines make the clear menu structure easy to understand.
Lens and Image Quality
The powerful zoom lens LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT 1:2.8-5.9/4.4-22 ASPH delivers brilliant pictures with true-to-life colour reproduction. You can capture the full scope of the city, life, friends, and unforgettable moments. The large focusing range - from 25mm to 125 mm ( both 35mm format ) - and the 5x optical zoom significantly expand the capabilities of the LEICA C-LUX 3.
With 10.1 megapixels, you can achieve 8 x 10" prints, with greater enlargement possible for poster sized prints.
Key Features
The camera has optical image stabilisation which allows sharper pictures to be taken at slower shutter speeds, which is useful for indoor photography or taking pictures under low light where the need for flash can either be eliminated or reduced so that more of the ambient light can expose through for better mood pictures.
Easy automatic picture taking is accommodated with 25 available picture modes such as night portrait, baby and underwater. In macro mode you can take pictures from as close as 5cm. It is also capable of 2.5 frames shooting for up to 5 pictures at full resolution and is pictbridge compliant.
