Design and Ergonomics
The DCR-SR67 is compact at a size of 60 x 68 x 112mm and a weight of 300g, yet remains loaded with value for money functionality. The 2.7" wide touch pane LCD display has 123k pixel resolution and rotates up to 270 degrees for viewing and recording flexibility. The touch panel gives quick access to features such as spot focus and spot metering. In order to make the camcorder more accessible for the beginner user, the ‘Easy Handycam’ button can ‘lock out’ most of the advanced features of the camcorder, leaving only the basic recording features.
Lens and Audio-visual quality
A 1/8” Advanced HAD™ (Hole Accumulation Diode) CCD imager with 410K (effective) pixel resolution delivers spectacularly clear video and still images. Capturing imagery at a distance, such as wildlife or sporting events is made easy with the 60X optical zoom. Additionally, digital zoom interpolation means that extreme digital zooming, of up to 2000x, is sharper than previous types of digital zoom. Audio recording can also be ‘zoomed in’, with the built-in zoom microphone which focuses audio recording on your subjects in sync with the camera's zoom lens, ensuring that the Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround sound stereo recording matches the video imagery.
Recording System Features
Hybrid recording technology gives the user the choice of recording onto either the built-in 80GB hard disk drive, or a removable PRO Duo Memory Stick. Various dubbing functions can also be used to easily copy video from the Memory Stick PRO Duo or hard disk to DVD.
Technology Features
Built-in image stabilisation improves video and still image quality. For after shooting, Sony Picture Motion Browser software lets the user transfer, sort, and view recorded video and still images on a compatible PC. Using face detection technology, the Face Index feature indexes your video footage according to the faces detected in each scene, so that when it’s time to play back video, the user can simply search for what they want by selecting from among the detected faces displayed in the index. Playback Zoom lets you zoom in on videos during playback or in the playback pause mode by up to 5x.
