It is also equipped with Nikon’s second generation Vibration Reduction optical image stabilisation, Silent Wave Motor for quick and accurate autofocussing, and ED glass elements for less colour distortion and sharper pictures. A good standard second lens on DX cameras to complement 18-55mm or 16-85mm focal length lenses, and great for indoor or low light handheld conditions.

ED glass element reduces chromatic aberrations providing superior optical performance - even at maximum aperture. Focus distance of 1 foot to infinity is ideal for landscape, snapshot, candid, environmental, close-up and full length portrait photography.

Probably a better lens choice on full frame cameras where it function well as a primary lens covering wide to short telephoto, unless combined with a wide zoom such as the 14-24mm Nikkor lens.

Wide to telephoto 3.5x zoom lens ideal for landscape, full length portraits, travel and portrait photographs. Maximum Reproduction Range (R:R) at 85mm is (1:2) Life Size. Filter attachment does not rotate during focusing or zooming.
