UDMA
You will notice that some of Lexars CF (compact flash) cards are adorned with the letters UDMA. UDMA stands for Ultra Direct Memory Access and these four letters are a highlight for users looking for high performance in CF cards.
UDMA refers to a new process of moving data from the card onto your alternate storage device (like your computer harddrive). A UDMA card will move your information quickly and safely without overpowering and stressing your host devices (like your camera) processor.
SOFTWARE
It’s good to know that Lexar has your back! When you purchase any Pro Card from Lexar you will also receive two software programs. Image Recovery and Secure Erase.
Image Recovery assist you in recovering lost, damaged or accidentally deleted images while Secure Erase is a program for servicing your memory cards (in much the same way that you would format your harddrive on your computer).
EXPRESS CF CARD READER
If you are anything like me then you are not a fan of cables. Even though I make a point of leaving my camera-to-computer cable right near my computer and supposedly always handy, I some how always end up looking for it.
Lexar has created a personal computer Express CF Card reader.
No Cables, this device plugs straight into the express card slot of your laptop.Transfering your data from your card to your computer at speeds that leave your jaw dropped onto the desk (up to 133MB per second!… If each photo was 10MB thats 13 photos tranfered in one SECOND!!)
If you are traveling and don’t take your own computer with you, simply slot your Card Reader into your friends computer and fire-away without any issues!
