1013777_20100228_imageAfter recording a couple of video clips on the Sony Bloggie I set out to bring them all together in a little home made movie.

My first comment is that Adobe Premier Elements is super easy to use!
You don’t need any previous video editing experience in order to have great fun using all the features in Adobe Premier.
The layout is really simple and without clicking on help once I found everything I needed. The options are all set up in what you can easily call logical order.

While the video I have created is a little messy and looks very much liked I wanted to try all of the transition options in one clip (which I did), I am confident that with a little practice I could make a really great video.

You get to choose what output you would like to save your video in when you are done, depending on where you will be viewing it (very high quality for viewing on a big screen TV and of course a lower quality for sharing online, with a number of different file types in the mix of options.)

transitions

You can drag and drop transitions to blocks between your clips.

Because the layout of options are so well put together it didn’t take long to actually make the video.
I could make great holiday videos and instead of trying to get someone to sit down and look at all of my holiday photos (they are only ever sentimental to the people who were on the holiday and friends tend to bore very quickly going through masses of photos of places they didn’t get to see) I would definitely love to put a video of a holiday together with a fun mix up of effects! So much easier to share a video and people will get a very good idea of the vibe of your holiday and the fun you had jumping off a bridge (screaming all the way down).

properties

Right clicking an individual clip brings up the properties for that clip where you can edit and add effects to that clip without effecting the others

You can fade out certain bits and pieces of the audio if you want to and keep others (maybe someone swore and you want to fade it out so that you can share the video with everyone without offending them). I thought that was a very handy feature.

Without actually discussing all of the fun effects that you have at your disposal, I have to give this program a big thumbs up in terms of usability and being jam packed with features.
I think that any entry level video editor as well as a more advanced editor will enjoy playing with Adobe Premier Elements.
