Canon has included their DIGIC DV III image process, a feature in a few of the Legria models. This image processor delivers incredible clarity, amazing colour reproduction and better noise reduction. The other controls are found around the LCD. You can reach your ‘most used’ and full menu options via the function button.

Some of the features included in the Canon Legria HF20 are; Face Detection, Video Snapshots, Pre-Record, Instant Auto Focus and a Super Range OIS.

Super Range Optical Image Stabilisation helps to keep the camera steady while shooting without a tripod, as most of the time you will find yourself using the camcorder handheld. The HF20 captures sound through the Dolby Digital 2 channel audio system and you can add your own music to the videos with the Music Transfer feature.

There are also some fun video effects that you can play with if you are feeling creative.

Canon’s Cine Mode lets you adjust gamma and colour and films nicely with the 24F progressive modes.
