It weighs in at 575 grams and has a minimum focus distance of 0.35 meters and a maximum magnification of 0.21x at 85mm. The lens is equipped with Image Stabilisation to assist with steady focusing. The Image Stabilisation detects whether you are panning or if your camera is set up on a tripod and adjusts the settings accordingly to assist you in taking a steady shot in any circumstance.

Canon have included UD (Ultra low Dispersion) lens elements as well as coatings which are developed to help avoid ghosting and flare and ensure the highest quality images from your Canon lens.

The Canon 15-85mm lens comes with a circular aperture for creating an excellent background blur.
Canon has put some effort into improving the exterior look and feel of the lens and I thought that their efforts resulted in a high quality feel.

The picture size is ASP-C. The lens construction takes the form of 17 elements in 12 groups. The Focus Drive for the Canon 15-85mm lens is a USM motor with a filter Diameter of 72mm. The total length of the lens is 87.5 millimetres long.

As I mentioned above, I found that this lens was a great all rounder and worked well with the portraits I took.
