Nikon reveals the D3000

*drum roll*
The DLSR made simple!
Nikon has just released the D3000, its newest, latest DSLR, boasting an incredible 3 inch LCD, with 230,000 pixels and an 11 point focus system with 3-D tracking.
The simplicity of the D3000 has dispelled the rumours that DSLRs are complicated to use. This sexy, little camera has made photography more fun with its ease of use and you can concentrate more on the images than the methods!
Nikon claims that the D3000 will be their least expensive DSLR and enters the market as an invitation to photographers interested in the ease and fun of photography and looking for simplicity of function.
The D3000 has a User Guide (switch the dial to ‘guide’ mode) which is visually enhanced to provide the most basic instructions for the camera, no matter how un-experienced you might be this function will give you all the information you could possibly want in a very easy to follow manner.
The EXPEED image system has been integrated to ensure bright, rich results in every photograph. Picture Controls also help you to set the mood and style of your pictures before you shoot. Scene Recognition assists the user by improving exposure, white balance, autofocus and by analysing the illumination and colour of the whole scene (all of this done milliseconds prior to your picture being captured!)
Another great feature the D3000 shares with its users is Active D Lighting. Active D Lighting analyses the scene much like Scene Recognition and then adjusts the exposure according to the shadow and highlighted areas. These adjustments help a high contrast scene to be captured in much the same way that your eyes view the image before capturing it.
A fun feature: In camera photo editing! With 15 special effects (including the ‘miniture’ effect, a fun way of making your subject look like a miniature model of the real thing! Haha)
The Nikon D3000 has a normal ISO of 100 to 1600, but also allows for the user to push the normal setting to a Hi 1 setting of ISO 3200.
The Numbers: A continuous shooting rate of 3 frames per second and a full battery allowing around 550 shots before needing a recharge(Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL9a). I have already mentioned the impressive 3 inch LCD.
The Nikon D3000 has a built in pop up flash make lighter work of those dark corners and there is a spot for an external flash if you want to use something stronger.
Nikon has included the integrated Dust Reduction System, an important element of this function is the Air Control System which steers dust away from the cameras image sensor. The Dust Reduction System also makes use of a low-pass vibration which automatically plays out when the camera is powered on or off and shakes the filter free of dust particles.
You can apply gridlines to your LCD to assist with picture composition. The Nikon D3000 is compatible with both SD and SDHC memory cards. The lens mount is a Nikon F mount and you have the option of using a wireless remote control for shooting your pictures.
The body is attractive and funky. There is plenty space for hold and because of the incredibly easy to use menu, the body is not drowned with buttons but rather sufficiently splashed.
The Nikon D3000 gets an eager four and a half star rating!
This camera delivers with effortless, fun photography, fantastic ease of use and excellent features.
